As a Penske Technician II, you will assist in overhauling major components and handling maintenance tasks as directed by the Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and repairing various systems such as clutches, PTO systems, electrical systems, brakes, and more.

Major Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair various systems in trucks, such as engines, powertrain, electrical systems, HVAC systems, brakes, etc., with some assistance
- Perform mechanical and appearance reconditioning of equipment and prepare new equipment for delivery
- Identify necessary parts for repair of disassembled units
- Perform preventive maintenance services
- Identify warranty repairs and document them
- Maintain a safe and tidy work area
- Perform road tests as needed to diagnose issues
- Use hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks
- Inspect and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions
- Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
- Raise and lower heavy parts or equipment using appropriate tools
- Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure compliance with specifications
- Specialize in major component repairs, such as engines, transmissions, differentials, etc.
- Complete other assigned projects and tasks
Qualifications:
- Practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance is required (2+ years)
- Must be currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program
- Must maintain membership/registration with respective government agencies
- Candidates with a 310S license or automotive background will be considered
- Specialized training in vehicle component repair and replacement is preferred
- Proficiency in the use of shop tools is required
- Valid driver’s license (class G or class 5) and ability to obtain class DZ within 6 months of hire
- Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems are preferred
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions is required
- Regular, predictable attendance is essential for this job
- Willingness to travel within the district and work the required schedule
- Must complete the Penske employment application and undergo a reference check
Physical Requirements:
- The physical demands of this job include lifting and moving heavy objects
- An associate must be able to lift up to 45kg
- Specific vision abilities are required for this job
- An associate must have good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
