ML6 Search + Talent Advisory Looking for Director of Project Delivery at Burlington, Ontario, Canada Full Time

The Opportunity:

Our Burlington based client, an prominent provider of environmentally controlled facilities, is seeking a Director of Project Delivery to join their rapidly growing team. Reporting to the President, you will ensure their project delivery teams have the leadership and support they need and are held accountable for delivering project success.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide financial guidance and direction at both program and project levels.
• Take charge of leading and coordinating Project Delivery and Field programs, taking full accountability for the overall success of project delivery.
• Grasp and effectively communicate essential financial data and metrics.
• Ensure that project reporting is consistently accurate and punctual.
• Conduct monthly Profit and Loss meetings to maintain accountability of Project Delivery teams, ensuring projects consistently stay on track.
• Perform regular performance reviews, delivering candid and transparent feedback.
• Effectively communicate the needs and capabilities of the project delivery team to the President and other members of the Operations management team.
• Foster collaboration with the Sales and Pre-Construction teams in the development and initiation of new projects.
• Anticipate potential issues with vendors, clients, consultants, and regulators, taking action to prevent or mitigate escalation.
• Provide technical expertise in various facets of projects, including interpreting scope requirements, managing contracts, resolving issues, and overseeing project and site management.
• Rigorously review and approve on-site project completion, ensuring billing aligns with the percentage of project completion.
• Deliver hands-on training in Project Cost Management to junior team members.
• Identify and address deficiencies or gaps in terms of resources and skills across the team.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

• A deep-seated motivation to secure market leadership, aligned with the strategic plan and top priorities.
• Proven track record of steering successful projects and teams that yield profitability and leave clients highly satisfied.
• 15 + years of experience covering all significant aspects of project delivery.
• Proficiency in hands-on management of construction projects.
• A history of successfully delivering numerous projects within the $5-10 million range and several more in the $15-90 million range.
• Possession of a PMP certification is strongly preferred.
