We are currently looking for a Manager, Talent Acquisition (14+ month contract) at our Corporate offices in Ajax, ON

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this position leads the Talent Acquisition team to execute the vision, develop KPIs and monitor progress, continually work to innovate and develop efficiencies, and help the Company achieve its targets. The incumbent will be responsible for recommending strategies to maximize talent acquisition efforts nationally across all brands and career levels in Canada.

This is a flex hybrid model, based out of the Ajax, ON head office

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall talent acquisition strategy for all VGCA brands in Canada (Volkswagen Canada, Audi Canada, Electrify Canada, and Lamborghini Canada), as well as supporting the ramp-up of the St. Thomas, Gigafactory (in partnership with PowerCo SE in Germany), with a focus on attracting and recruiting top talent across all stakeholder groups (including Executive Level).
• Investigate partnerships and alignment with the North American Region, sharing best practices between Canada, US, and Mexico to create and enhance NAR synergies.
• Ensure alignment of the internal policies and processes with the process standards defined by Volkswagen AG to the extent they are compatible with Canadian laws and take necessary actions to address any discrepancies (including, but not limited to, obtaining Group approval for adaptations).
• Lead the T4I talent acquisition initiatives, including the comprehensive background check process, ensuring compliance with the Group requirements.
• Work with Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) to create a Path to Management process for Canada, ensuring compliance with the Group requirements.
• Build and maintain working relationships with internal stakeholders to define and understand current and future recruitment needs.
• Refine and optimize talent attraction efforts to ensure diversity metrics are considered while hiring the top talent in the industry.
• Responsible for leading, developing, and coaching the Talent Acquisition team to proactively develop recruitment strategies and maintain talent pipelines through networking and relationship management.
• Act as a coach for hiring managers through the hiring and selection process, and challenge biases in order to ensure a fair and unbiased interview for all candidates that is equitable, diverse and inclusive.
• Responsible for developing KPIs for the Talent Acquisition team, tracking data in the ATS (currently Taleo, but will be implementing SAP Success Factors), and monitoring progress to ensure hiring goals are achieved.
• Lead Recruitment module during the implementation of SAP Success Factors
• Ensuring talent acquisition programs and initiatives are executed within assigned budget.
• Responsible for engaging with the Purchasing team on the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for recruitment activities, and align with VWGoA / VW AG where possible.
• Recommend ideas and strategies for continuous improvement, leveraging internal mobility and increasing diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the process.
• Represent Talent Acquisition within the implementation of a Diversity Tracking Tool (Diversio) to track diversity and inclusion in the hiring and selection process, as well as identify metrics for current employees to enable the team in collectively establishing better KPIs in sourcing activities and movements within the Company.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations pertaining to recruitment and selection.
• Act as subject matter expert for recruitment in the implementation of Success Factors HRIS, and support other modules as needed.
• Responsible for the VGCA LinkedIn page, working with Marketing teams on social media strategies and corporate branding initiatives.
• Manage and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners to support overall business objectives.
• Support global talent acquisition wherever possible between Canada and other international markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years relevant work experience, 2+ years supervisory experience
• Experience designing and executing large-scale HR initiatives
• Strong skills in planning, and relationship building
• Experience with vendor and project management
• Experience presenting projects and/or initiatives and executing within assigned budgets
• Proven success partnering with business leaders and adding value through the delivery of HR solutions that improve workforce capability and organizational performance
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to professionally represent the company in all interactions
• Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (Taleo and/or Success Factors would be considered an asset)
• Strong collaborative and supportive approach
• Knowledge of relevant legislation as it pertains to the recruitment process
• Process-oriented, strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, analytical skills and conceptual thinking skills
• Influencing and negotiation skills
• Up to 10% travel may be required
