About the Opportunity
Our company is seeking an accounting analyst to be a part of our Finance team. We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable working in a team environment, has the ability to multi-task, while maintaining complex schedules. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver and organized. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position. Your duties will also include::
Support the month-end and quarter-end accounting close including preparing and posting journal entries for intercompany charges, lease accounting, and other accruals
Perform intercompany reconciliations, and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts for treasury
Analyze account balances, and prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
Review intercompany invoices for appropriate charges; process and prepare cash settlements
Assess impacts of intercompany accounting variances and propose resolution(s)
Coordinate with Supply Chain on Lease Appropriation Requests; present to management for approval
Assess rental / lease agreements for lease accounting standards implications under ASC 842/IFRS 16
Upload financial data for new lease agreements into Lease Accelerator system
Compile financial data for risk management insurance surveys, and Statistics Canada surveys
Implement process improvements to accounting processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Assist with internal and external audit requests; compile data and provide supporting documentation
Research and provide guidance to Finance on accounting standards / topics as needed
Other activities to support finance team as needed
Position Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
University degree and/or college diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business
Professional accounting designation (CPA) or in progress
Minimum 3 to 5 years relevant experience
Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
Strong team player capable of performing in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with financials in an ERP system environment
Ability to work independently and on multiple projects at the same time
Preferred Qualifications:
University degree
Strong MS Office skills, including MS Excel
Oracle experience
