We are looking for a cloud application delivery specialist to join our superstar team in Calgary, Alberta or remotely across Canada. In a small, flexible team, you’ll be hands-on, working horizontally across multiple development squads to ensure the smooth, continuous delivery of our applications. You will act as a quality assurance specialist during your onboarding and will eventually lead the quality assurance team. You’ll work with engineering managers to resolve any deployment complexities that might otherwise slow the team down. Over time, you’ll lead efforts to automate deployment-related processes to optimise consistency and to reduce lead time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partner with product and application development to identify friction and pain points in our engineering practices. Understand the costs and benefits of these opportunities and be able offer up both, long term and short term solutions.
- Champion best practices in quality assurance and continuous delivery.
- Be able to communicate complex ideas laterally and vertically through the organisation. Communicate with clarity with non-technical staff.
- Help build a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of our engineering practice.
- Pair with the CloudOps teams on issues relating to build and deployment pipelines. Be willing to roll up your sleeves and write the code yourself.
- Lead and manage a team of QA Developers who work remotely throughout Canada
Must Haves:
- 3+ years of relevant experience with cloud-native SaaS organisations.
- Experience with continuous deployment and delivery, and associated best practices.
- Experience with quality assurance and associated best practices.
- Experience with Scrum and Kanban agility methodologies.
- Experience leading and managing a team
Bonus Experience:
- Previous experience at a dynamic FinTech, high growth startup and/or scale up
- Experience with managing quality assurance or delivery.
- Experience with a MERN stack (especially Typescript + MongoDB), or with AWS cloud services such as SNS/SQS, Fargate and Lambda Functions.
