Fastco Canada Looking for Quality Control Technician at Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, Canada Full Time

Report To: Quality Control Team Lead | Service: Supply

As part of the Quality Control team, the Quality Control Technician monitors products, materials and production procedures for defects, nonconformities or deviations from specifications and standards. The Quality Control Technician properly documents all findings related to the inspection process, communicates with internal and external stakeholder to propose solutions and improvements to the deviations to ensure that the quality of the products complies to company standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

Quality Control | 80%

• Inspect incoming goods and quarantine all items with quality issues.
• Ensure factories are using correct versions of all associated product documents (instructions, warranty cards, etc.) and packaging.
• Lead the process to ensure that corrective actions are taken and support the other teams to establish the preventive actions that can prevent the recurrence of the nonconformity.
• Document the costs incurred in fixing the problems and advise to his supervisor.
• Run production inspections to ensure that final products are conform to the standards and production procedures are being properly followed.
• Support producing and analyzing statistical reports to monitor quality performance.

Technical Services and Operations | 20%

• Assist with Research and Development Projects where needed.
• Learn to operate and assist the Machine Shop department with CNC machine operations.
• Assist with Machine Shop and Warehouse operations when required.

Academic Aspects And Experience

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of one year of experience in a related field.
• Basic understanding of QC tools (check sheet, control chart, pareto, etc.).
• Experience with quality control measuring devices (scales, calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Experience with warehouse equipment (forklift, reach truck, order picker, etc.).
• Previous experience with sampling procedures is an asset.
• Bilingual is a must (English and French).
• Knowledge of the automotive industry is an asset.
