Join us as Logistics Engineer, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in St-Bruno (QC), CA.
You will manage and optimize TCT operations and shipments ensuring process and regulation compliance. You will manage the relationship and contract with key strategic provider(s) and you will drive transformation initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervise TCT operational activity & process application
Ensure customs compliance within the scope of responsibility.
Handle issues (day to day, recurrent) and drive continuous amelioration plan on operational scope
Ensure all deliverables are provided on time and in full (data quality, documentation, …)
Provide visibility on transportation status to all stakeholders
Support Sites to get their parts at the right QCD expectation, looking for inventories/cost optimization
Drive 3PL operational performance
You maintain the Transportation Performance management system for the scope under your responsibility
Implement and maintain standard KPIs (on-time pickup and delivery, transport in/out per vehicle, truck fill-rate, cost per kg per shipment…);
Understand reporting needs and design reports that provide stakeholders with accurate measurements of their business drivers
Design robust data collection system (from AT systems and/ or external parties); maintain data repository
Ensure timely and accurate update of performance dashboard and reports
Monitor cost performance vs Budget; identify cost drivers, analyse deviations and propose action plans
Contribute in design and continuous improvement of Transportation metrics
You play the role of vendor key contact for critical Transportation service provider(s)
Be Vendor Manager for “Transportation Control Tower provider” for your scope: manage budget, monitor purchase orders and approve of invoices, run regular performance and quality reviews (monthly, quarterly, ad-hoc)
Prepare and run Monthly Performance reviews with Transportation providers
Ensures that communication channels are in place for a smooth process between Alstom and the service provider(s)
Drive continuous improvements initiatives and network studies with “Control Tower” and transportation provider(s) in order to optimize shipments as well as truck and equipment utilization
Support “Control Tower” partner in the maintenance of Master Data and set up of the Transportation Management system (new suppliers, sites, lanes, …)
Run root cause analysis and corrective actions for any operational or system issues generating manual interventions in the transportation planning system
Monitor the business case and achievement of objectives
You drive consistency in process mapping, systems & data across Sites
Support deployment of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and Transportation Routing guides across Sites;
Monitor compliance with established Routings; measure extra-charges and STR (Special Transport Requests)
You facilitate the continuous improvement and transformation of the Transportation organization
Identify opportunities for transportation consolidation, size associated savings
Be a facilitator for Operational Excellence and Lean leadership applied in the domain of Transportation; occasionally lead Problem-solving or Kaizen events
As our ideal candidate you have:
A University degree in international transport or supply chain field
Knowledge of modern principles for efficient transportation management, and distribution control
Minimum 2 years, in similar position
Good understanding of customs regulations and procedures
SAP knowledge
You are Fluent in English
