Orbis Express Ltd, a B.C. based logistics, transportation, and warehousing company, is looking for an (Junior) Intermediate Accountant.
A successful accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles attention to detail with respect to accounting, administration, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing others and working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties include data entry, billing, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and tax remittances, assisting in monthly financial reporting and analysis. They will also be required to communicate with clients and staff in a confident, articulate, and professional manner, both in writing and verbally.
Job Details:
· Full Time – Monday to Friday
· Starting Annual Salary $55,000.00
· Flexible daily hours of work with respect to start and end times
· Support for ongoing training in pursuit of an accounting designation

Job Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle accounting and reporting
- Maintaining general ledger and preparing month end close procedures
- Participate in month-end and year-end financial reporting and compliance
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Identify and implement changes on accounting procedures and controls
- General administrative tasks and other contributions to the operations as needed
- Ensure statutory compliance with respect to sales and payroll taxes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or related field
- Experience with industry and accounting software packages, Quickbooks, Sage 50 (Simply Accounting); Trimble Management System and advanced MS Excel skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- Relevant certification or certification in progress (e.g. CGA, CMA or CPA) will be preferred
- Working knowledge of Trimble Management System preferred
- Minimum 2 to 3 years full time accounting experience
