Fitzrovia Looking for Corporate Accounting Coordinator at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

About the Role:

Fitzrovia is seeking to hire a Corporate Accounting Coordinator to join our team. The future Corporate Accounting Coordinator will be primarily responsible for managing the monthly accounting and reporting cycle for all Fitzrovia’s corporate entities. Additional responsibilities will be required on a periodic basis including supporting a Senior Corporate Accountant with information requests or financial analysis. The ideal candidate must be well organized, proactive, hard-working and should be able to multi–task in a fast–paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly accounting close procedures;
• Perform monthly bank and intercompany reconciliations;
• Prepare accurate documentation for payments and transfers between accounts;
• Organizing and prioritizing invoices according to payment terms
• Entering invoices for payment in a timely manner and ensuring accuracy of information
• Managing corporate credit card reconciliations
• Verifying cost codes and classification of expenses
• Communicate with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies
• Maintain positive vendor relationships and address inquiries in a professional manner
• Assist with the invoice processing workflow to ensure invoices are being reviewed in a timely manner
• Matching invoices to cheques / processing wire transfers and other types of online payments
• Circulating cheques for signature and tracking status of same
• Prepare annual year-end financial reporting and provide all information to external accountants for financial statements and tax filings;
• Assisting with accounting setup and preparing banking documents for corporate entities
• Support senior executives with requested financial analysis or retrieval of information;
• Identify weaknesses in financial reporting controls and implement procedures to address the weaknesses and improve efficiency; Performing other related duties, as assigned
• Performing other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications and Experiences:

• Bachelors degree, Diploma or Certificate in Business, Finance or Accounting
• CPA, CGA or CPA, CMA or actively enrolled in the CPA program (midway through or nearing completion) is an asset;
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage your team and resources to generate solutions
• 2-4 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance related role; accounting and tax experience in a corporate environment is considered a strong asset;
• Demonstrates leadership qualities and initiative; able to confidently ask questions and takes initiative in addressing challenges
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of staff, management, and executive
• Team player, who takes pride in their work
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and planning skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet time sensitive deadlines;
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Sage Accounting;
• Self-starter attitude with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Highest degree of integrity, honesty and commitment to professionalism
