Overview of role:
The Intermediate Business Analyst – ServiceNow is responsible for working with key stakeholders to assess and understand business processes and recommend how those processes can be implemented and/or improved by leveraging technology within our ServiceNow platform. This individual will exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoy challenges, be results driven, highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.
This role will be a key resource in gathering and capturing requirements, working with project stakeholders, business partners, process owners and end users. The Business Analyst will also work with the Platform Team to ensure requirements are understood, end user focused, developed, tested, and delivered to specification. The Business Analyst possesses sound foundational knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, integrations and a detailed understanding of the business users represented.
Critical to the technology roadmap for the supported business unit, the Business Analyst will provide input and feedback to the Product Manager related to the multi-year lifecycle.
Key deliverables / responsibilities include:
- Leveraging the platform perform data analysis within the business and technology processes to understand areas of improvement / efficiency
- Represent project stakeholders, business partners, process owners and end users, throughout the planning, development, and release processes
- Own the relationship with project stakeholders, business partners and end users throughout the lifecycle of the request and/or project
- Describe product functionality, leveraging process owners to support criticality to overall business performance
- Contribute to the product roadmaps in conjunction with the Product Manager
- Collaboration with the platform team, help in prioritization in preparation for planning out upcoming sprints
- Communicate the intake process to project stakeholders, business partners, process owners and end users, driving for quality and completeness
- Champion for technology within external business stakeholder groups
- Research market innovations, platform advancements within application and business process areas
- Participate in the development of business cases and budgeting process
- Build out requirement design documents to represent core configuration, workflows, and UI mockups
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical or business-related area
- 3+ years of experience eliciting and documenting requirements
- Experience within the platform in some of the following areas: IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Workplace Service Delivery (WSD), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Software Asset Management (SAM), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Scoped App Development, Service Catalog and Service Portals.
- Proficiency in understanding ITIL concepts
- Experience working in an agile development environment, knowledge of Scrum and DevOps practices
- Excellent communication and presentation skill
- Soft skills are key: ability to communication at all levels, organized, ability to manage multiple initiatives at once, ability to track and verbalize project status, resolve conflict, negotiate priorities, and ensure data completeness and accuracy in a large-scale project
- A strong customer focus coupled with the ability to operate effectively and independently in an energetic, fast-paced environment
- Passion for process analysis and improvement
- Proven track record to communicate both in business and technical fields, ability to translate between the two
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) considered an asset
- ServiceNow Certifications would be considered an asset
- Scrum certified would be considered an asset
