Freed Developments is seeking an Accountant to join it’s growing Accounting and Finance team. This is a mid-level, on-site role, in a fast-paced company with strong potential for growth into a senior role. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will take the lead and provide support for full-cycle accounting duties for multiple entities in the hospitality, construction and real-estate industries.
As an Accountant you will:
- Provide support to the Accounting Manager on more complex financial activities.
- Perform day-to-day treasury such as ACH, wires, account transfers and cheque runs.
- Prepare monthly working papers and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year end financial statements.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations across various entities.
- Prepare and file monthly HST returns with CRA.
- Assist with cash flow and day to day liquidity tracking.
- Create and implement a check-in and tracking process for realtor desk fees.
- Perform ad hoc duties as needed.
Our ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
- Completion of a degree/diploma in Accounting.
- 3 years of experience in progressive accounting roles in a multi discipline environment.
- Advance excel proficiency (IF Statements, VLOOKUP, Pivot tables etc.)
- Tech savvy with Microsoft Office
- Experience with real estate accounting an asset but not a requirement.
- Excellent communication both written and verbal.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
