The Role
The Account Payable & Receivable Clerk (“AP/AR Clerk”) reports to the Finance Leader and is responsible for supporting the Finance Department through data entry and review, processing and posting of invoices & payments, preparation of invoices and account statements, and more.
Accounts Payable
- Receive, record and process invoices from suppliers
- Responsible for the proper coding of invoices to proper GL accounts
- Bill chargebacks to clients as well as inter-companies
- Receive and process employee expense reports
- Advising employees and customers of payments made
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions
Accounts Receivable
- Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as invoices and account statements
- Follow up on delinquent accounts and notify customers of insufficient payments
- Record deposits received and apply payments to customer records
General
- Assist in the implementation of policies, procedures and internal controls
- Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls
- Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
- Prepare Adhoc Reports
Qualifications and Skills
- 1-2 years of related experience
- A high degree of accuracy
- Great attention to detail and highly organized are essential
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience with Quickbooks is an asset
- Fast learner with a sense of responsibility
- Proven to handle deadlines
