PurposeMed consists of three complex care business units: Freddie, Frida, and Foria, and partners with Affirming Care Pharmacy. Freddie is focused on improving sexual health through education, prevention, and treatment with a focus on the LGBTQ2S+ community—we’re now the largest HIV prevention service in Canada! Our second vertical, Frida, is focused on improving mental health and happiness through education, diagnosis, and treatment. Frida is changing the lives of patients with easier access to adult ADHD diagnosis, and fast and affordable treatment. Foria was recently launched in 2023 and is a virtual clinic providing trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse Canadians with gender-affirming healthcare. Affirming Care Pharmacy is a specialty pharmacy with locations in Calgary, Alberta, and Mississauga, Ontario. This partnership provides our patients with an end-to-end healthcare experience, from treatment, to prescription delivery, to continuous affirming care.

Location: Remote (Canada or United States)

Though we have an office based in Calgary, this is a remote position that is open to candidates across Canada and the United States. PurposeMed’s office is located on the unceded and traditional territories of the peoples of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot First Nation tribes of Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Stoney Nakoda First Nations tribes of Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley and the Tsuut’ina First Nation. The city of Calgary is also homeland to the historic Northwest Métis and to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.

Who we hope to find:

PurposeMed is looking for a Director of Brand to oversee all creative direction, content, and brand campaign creation for Frida and Freddie (in Canada and the United States). Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will seek to understand what motivates our brands’ audiences, and develop strategic brand marketing solutions that build brand trust, awareness and ultimately acquire patients that are retained.

In this role, you’ll make an impact by:

• Delivering full funnel impact through integrated marketing campaigns, content creation and, organic social for multiple brands (Frida, Freddie Canada, Freddie USA, Foria)
• Generating and translating rich patient insights into action-oriented and compelling marketing strategies that deliver against business and marketing objectives
• Refining consumer journey(s) when necessary; being the ultimate owner of the tactics across each stage where brand marketing intersects (i.e. clinician communications, product etc.)
• Championing holistic brand goals and strategy that connect to priority business outcomes–including facilitating a deep partnership with the Growth team to support acquisition, activation and retention efforts
• Doing thorough reviews of creative and content, having a clear perspective on the work, and being able to consolidate and communicate creative feedback
• Shepherding the selection process of external vendors, ultimately ensuring that they deliver the utmost highest creative and content quality at a reasonable cost
• Leading all organic social channels to build brand love and trust
• Managing the brand marketing budget to drive business impact most efficiently
• Leading the planning and project management of multi-team creative campaigns (development of RACIs, facilitating stand-ups, note sharing, internal stakeholder management)
• Managing team cohesiveness (comprehension of strategy, goal tracking, NPS of team) by determining optimal interaction models (team meetings, updates, socials)
• Committing to weekly 1-on-1s with direct reports to discuss progress against goals and development opportunities
• Proposing immediate team hire needs and offering vision of future evolution of team

We need someone who has:

• Leadership experience in a performance-oriented, consumer-focused company with a proven track record of success
• Demonstrated ability to drive aggressive business outcomes through brand marketing in a high-growth B2C business
• Experience building and motivating a high performance brand team
• Demonstrated strength in communicating and leading organizational vision, goals, and priorities at senior levels
• Demonstrated ability to self-direct and roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you persevere in times of headwinds and failures
• A strong understanding of growth marketing KPIs, as you will work closely with the Director of Growth on large scale campaigns driving a full-funnel impact
• Strong business acumen and the ability to put data into context
• Experience building collaborative partnerships with business leaders
• A nose for value; the ability to prioritize initiatives across multiple areas of a business, based on urgency, importance and potential impact
• A passion for PurposeMed’s mission and solving healthcare challenges for underserved communities

Compensation:

• $150,000 – $180,000 CAD a year
