Description Our client in Edmonton is currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work in a laid-back, small office environment with a focus on bookkeeping and personal tax returns.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or Sage, including migrating year-end data from manual entry to QBO, converting bank statements, and reconciling transactions.
- Handle bookkeeping for a variety of clients, including small businesses, dentists, daycares, restaurants, construction firms, engineering firms, and salons.
- Focus on reconciliations and ensuring accuracy in financial records.
- Assist with personal tax returns, preparing approximately 10 returns per day, including simpler ones with investments, T4s, T2202s, T5s, and rental schedules.
- Answer phones and greet visitors to provide coverage as needed.
- Ad-hoc duties as requested
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, or Sage is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
- Public practice experience is preferred.
- Ability to handle a high volume of bookkeeping and tax tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
