Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time bookkeeper/accountant to join our team, with flexible hours available from Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge and experience in QuickBooks, payroll, and basic accounting. In this role, the individual will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the office, managing bookkeeping tasks such as AP/AR functions, payroll, HST returns, follow-up on outstanding receivables, and conducting weekly reporting/cash flow analysis for executives. Our team values a collaborative approach, and we are seeking a flexible, team-oriented individual who is open to learning and expanding their responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities
The Accounting Associate is responsible for data entry and analysis related to Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). About 60% of role is related to A/R, mainly around resolving collections, customer billing and payment enquiries, invoicing exception orders as most invoicing is processed via automation and new customer set ups. The remainder of the role will be spent in AP entering non-accrual invoices, reconciling and investigating accrual discrepancies in order to post invoices. This position involves interaction with vendors, customers, and peers to ascertain information and support in order to facilitate accurate data within the accounting software system.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate specific skills in QuickBooks, payroll, and basic accounting. Additionally, adaptability and a proactive approach to learning and growth within the role are essential. The role encompasses efficient management of A/P and A/R functions, day-to-day office operations, and collaborative efforts within the team.
