Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Accountant/ Payroll Administrator to perform general accounting duties as well as payroll administration. The successful candidate will bring a can-do attitude, be comfortable with accounting entries and reconciliation and ensuring that all aspects of the payroll cycle for employees are processed in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with the Company’s policies and government regulations and be able to analyze payroll, time and attendance records.
What You’ll Do:
Senior Accountant:
- General accounting functions including, month end, journal entries, working papers, reconciliations in multiple currencies;
- Commission calculations;
- Using Power BI to review financial results and prepare variance analysis;
- Perform other accounting duties and special projects as required.
Payroll Administration:
- Prepare payroll for hourly and salaried employees in Canada (BC, ON, QC) and related remittances on a timely and accurate basis using ADP PAY@WORK and ADP Workforce Now;
- Perform all other payroll responsibilities including various fillings and timesheet/attendance reports etc; and
- Administer employee group benefit plans including set-up new hires, employee record maintenance and status changes (extended health, dental, life, RRSP).
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Commerce, Business Administration or related field;
- Experience with multiple locations and provinces and multi-currencies transactions
- 3+ years of Accounting and Payroll experience ideally within the tech industry and/or manufacturing environment;
- Experience working with large ERP systems, preferably Navision or Business Central
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize time/workload to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines;
- Ability to manage fast-changing business circumstances, thrive in a constantly changing business environment and handle multiple (and sometimes conflicting) deadlines;
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, time management, and negotiation skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of employees;
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic – ability to be thorough in accomplishing a task with enthusiasm and concern for all areas involved, no matter how big or small;
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Teams
- High integrity and a real sense of ownership and accountability of responsibilities and projects.
