The Human Resources Business Partner acts as a generalist on a wide range of HR activities including, but not limited to employee relations, compensation, organization development, coaching and development. This is a hands-on generalist role and is the primary HR contact for Knoll Specialty Businesses and their corporate functions. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Required Skills

Proactively apply knowledge by functioning as a business partner and expert in Human Resources technologies and people issues.

Proactively market and deliver value-adding interventions pertaining to organizational development, effectiveness and talent management.

Participates as a member of the Human Resource and Business Teams. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.

Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members.

Attends appropriate team meetings.

As a member of the Technical Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Facilitate groups to help them solve problems, build relationships, transfer HR knowledge and achieve business goals.

Utilize team training techniques to facilitate positive relationships with supported teams and business partners.

Conduct interventions to optimize employee relations and conflict resolution for assigned client groups when appropriate.

Listening to, comprehending and articulating the voice of the associates and acting as an impartial advocate to ensure all individuals receive fair and equitable treatment.

Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all National, provincial, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for compliance.

Implement and follow all appropriate HR processes related to ensuring accurate associate data. This may include but is not limited to offer letters, job descriptions, organizational charts, associate data forms for job titles, supervisors, pay, etc.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. This position description is intended to guide the activities of the HR Business Partner. Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a related field. Advanced degree desired

Three to five years of experience as an HR professional

Knowledge of Recruiting, Compensation, Employee Relations and Compliance

Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset

Ability to influence, interact and communicate with people at all organizational levels

Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple, concurrent priorities; many needing immediate resolution

Strong analytical and communication skills required

Some travel required
