As ATB’s next Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you’re on a mission to reimagine the value that Procurement creates for our customers. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Sourcing of Banking & Professional Services, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing the overall sourcing (RFx) process including evaluation, assessing new market entrants and non-traditional suppliers, and contract negotiation in line with risk management best practices to drive overall value from contracts. This role will work closely with the Strategic Sourcing Managers, developing contract and service agreements that drive value for money with acceptable risks, manage all commercial matters, and support all procurement of services. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will maintain positive relationships with internal customers as well as key suppliers while ensuring that the team is following ATB policies and applicable regulations and supporting processes and procedures. What’s the opportunity all about? You will facilitate the end-to-end sourcing process. This includes conducting market research, demand planning, developing the sourcing strategy, writing the RFx, responding to vendor questions, facilitating vendor presentations, assisting with proposal evaluations, negotiating, reverse auctions, drafting contracts, executing contracts, and managing the renewal of contracts for the business areas that you support. Requirements
- Understanding of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and Category Management objectives, best practices, and processes
- Intermediate ability to conduct the RFx process; including, defining the requirements, writing the RFx, facilitating presentations, evaluating proposals, interpreting contracts, and advising stakeholders on legal and business risks
- Intermediate ability to manage 3rd party contract negotiations and author the outcomes in a contract document
- Intermediate contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Advanced written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with ability to share business insights beyond the numbers
- Ability to manage multiple high priority projects at the same time
- Ability to formally and informally lead team members including internal customers and supplier
Skills that are a “nice to have”…
- Contract management system experience
- Advanced Google Sheet or Excel data manipulation skills (ex; Pivot tables and VLookups)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 3-5 years experience in sourcing events and contract drafting
