GCW is currently looking to add to our IT Team!
The Junior IT position is responsible for manning the IT help desk and helping solve IT issues for GCW staff members in a courteous and friendly manner across a wide range of IT hardware including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
Role Responsibilities may Include:
- Support company staff members and contractors with their daily technical requests in a timely manner and ensure all requests are logged in the ticketing system
- Maintain the IT inventory system with all relevant hardware and software licensing
- Create and update documentation to reflect any new changes to existing environment
- Understand the backup lifecycle of servers and oversee daily backups.
Technical Knowledge and Experience
- Basic understanding of windows workstation OS and PowerShell
- Experience using Google Docs, Calendar and Remote Desktop
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite is important
- Technical understanding of computer hardware installation and troubleshooting
- Fundamentals of networking including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
- Understanding of PDQ software suite is an asset
- Ability to work in fast-paced, monotonous environment with a calm and pleasant nature
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Post Secondary Education in Computer Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
- A+ or Network+ Certifications would be considered an asset
- Microsoft Certification would be considered an asset
- Must have strong analytical problem solving skills
- Highly motivated to see task through from beginning to completion
- Personal interest in technology and curiosity to learn more is required
Essential Role Requirements:
- Excellent English communication skills including both verbally and in written form
- Maintain a professional and mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Must have a valid ‘G’ class drivers license, with at least 3 years of driving experience
