We are seeking a skilled General Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in full cylcle accounting, accounts payable and is able to think critically with minimal oversight. Experience with Quickbooks and Procore would be considered an asset
Responsibilities:
Accounts payable:
- Record payable transactions in accounting system
- Process payments electronically and by cheque
- Coordinate with construction team to ensure payments get processed in a timely manner
- Communicate with vendors on invoices and inquiries
- Prepare vendor reconciliations and accounts payable analyses
- Prepare credit apps as requested
- Prepare corporate credit card reconciliaitons
Payroll
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Prepare timecard reconciliations
- Work directly with the Director of Finance on WCB and EHT returns and compliance
- Prepare payroll analyses
- Assist with staff onboarding/ offboarding
Other
- Prepare financial compliance reporting – GST, PD7A
- Assist with property management of rental units
- Assist construction team with invoice management
- Assist with preparation of fiscal year end working papers for the corporate group
- Reconcile intercompany transactions
- Various other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Able to think critically about complex accounting tasks
- Prior experience working on an accounting team
- Experience with procore considered an asset
- Experience with quickbooks considered an asset
- Accounting diploma or degree considered an asset
- CPA designation or enrolment in CPA program considered an asset
