The Job!
You will be a key player in the organization with primary functions in preparing for audits and improving processes, including developing and finetuning the audit program. You can expect to:
- Manage the internal audit process from start to finish.
- Crafting and refining audit programs while delivering comprehensive audit reports.
- Prepare documents and findings and communicating recommendations to management.
- Develop practical solutions and implement approved action plans.
- Continuously evaluating solutions and outcomes to rectify inefficiencies and errors.
- Participate in processes on the ISM platform involving a self-clearing investment dealer.
- Review and analyze the audit program and processes to ensure risks are identified and mitigated.
- Provide support on initiatives, strategy, due diligence, etc.
- Other duties as required
What you bring to the job
You are analytical and thorough in your work within a securities/brokerage firm. You are a hard-working self-starter, and determined to ensure best practices are in place with auditing in mind. You also have the following qualities:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Experience within a brokerage/Securities firm.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with auditing finance and operations
- Expertise in back-office operations within securities, brokerage, or a full-service investment firm
- Understanding of accounting principles is essential, especially concerning the audit function
- Ability to interface effectively with various departments and personnel, from direct reports to executive leadership
- Strong knowledge and experience in designing audit programs and handling audit processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal), especially for reporting
- Capable of independent work and team collaboration
