We are looking for a Payroll and Accounting Clerk to join our team Job Summary: The Payroll and Accounting Clerk is responsible for efficiently managing payroll processes, maintaining financial records, and supporting various accounting functions within the organization. This role ensures accurate and timely payment of employees while adhering to payroll and accounting software such as ADP and Vantagepoint. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee salaries, wages, and deductions accurately and on time using ADP. Verify timesheets, attendance records, and other data to ensure accuracy. Prepare and distribute paychecks or electronic transfers to employees. Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly. Stay updated with payroll tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance. Accounting Tasks: Record and maintain financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, using Vantagepoint. Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and financial reports. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with applicable payroll tax laws and regulations. Prepare and submit payroll tax returns and other regulatory reports. Assist with audits by providing relevant financial records and documentation. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information. Data Entry and Documentation: Enter payroll and accounting data into ADP and Vantagepoint accurately. Maintain organized records and files for easy retrieval and reference. Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries as required. Administrative Support: Assist in general administrative tasks related to finance and accounting. Provide support to the finance department and collaborate with team members. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and handle inquiries from employees and vendors. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk, Accounting Clerk, or similar role using ADP and Vantagepoint or similar software. Familiarity with ADP payroll processing software and Vantagepoint accounting software. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
