Regional Innovation Director
Position Overview
As Canada’s gateway to food innovation, the Canadian Food Innovation Network (CFIN) offers programs and services to accelerate innovation that catalyzes Canada’s food ecosystem. The success of CFIN depends on its ability not only to attract and retain members across the food ecosystem but also to become essential to members of that community.
Reporting to the Vice President Partnerships & Development, Regional Innovation Directors fill a critical role in identifying and connecting directly with Canada’s food industry community. Acting in a manner similar to a concierge, the Regional Innovation Director, must be a recognized and accessible partner for industry who provides value added connectivity through CFIN. The Regional Innovation Director must be a trusted relationship builder, with the ability to create linkages, networks and collaborations that typically would not exist. With an established network, the Regional Innovation Director will continue to collect feedback and provide services to CFINs members. With a national view, the Regional Innovation Directors will work together to drive food innovation and membership engagement.
CFIN is a remote, national organization so this position will be based in the Regional Innovation Directors home.

What You Bring
Ability to communicate in both official languages an asset (French required for Quebec)
High proficiency using online collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint and other common office tools and programs such as CRM, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Extensive understanding of the Canadian Food Sector and Food Ecosystem with ideally 10 years or more experience working in the food value chain
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant career and professional development experience
Exceptional skills in establishing relationships, negotiating, and influencing others
Superior ability to connect ideas, people, groups and organizations that would typically not cross paths otherwise
Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders
Positive outlook and manner and a desire to nurture collaborations that lead to synergistic outcomes for all stakeholders, including CFIN as an organization
Demonstrate mature judgement, critical thinking and team and consensus building skills
Exceptional leadership and innovation skills; including diplomacy, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust,
Unquestionable integrity and pragmatism with an ability to establish relationships based on ethics and values
Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
Mission-driven and self-directed with demonstrated passion for CFIN’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals

This position will require travel. The success of the Canadian Food Innovation Network (CFIN) depends on its ability to attract and retain members across the food ecosystem. To achieve a strong national membership base, CFIN-RCIA must embrace diversity in all its forms (personal, geographical, sectoral, etc.), must deliver services equitably in both official languages, and must have a value proposition (“unique selling proposition”) that resonates with all the players in the food innovation ecosystem.
