Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) opportunity available now at the Nicola Valley Hospital and Health Centre. Days of work are rotating and shift times are: 06:30-14:30, 07:30-15:30, 08:00-16:00 and 09:00-13:00. This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary. Shifts may be called out at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. What You Will Work On
MLAs perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

The Nicola Valley Hospital and Health Centre provides a variety of community health services including lab and x-ray, a small number of acute care beds and a 24/7 Emergency Department.
