This is an entry level position. I am looking for a dedicated colleague who is looking for a long term position and to grow with our company.

The hours of work is 40 per week (full time position).

Qualifications – the successful candidate:

– has a professional attitude;

– communicates fluently in English;

– is punctual;

– has high attention to detail (this is a must);

– is organized;

– is a self-starter;

– has experience with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook;

– knows basic excel formulas (this is a must);

– can speak their mind;

– can remind senior staff about deadlines;

– knows how to write effective reports;

– has a high school diploma as a minimum; higher education will be an asset (business administration, engineering, or other relevant degrees are welcome to apply; but if you have a masters degree or higher, you are overqualified for this position!);

– can work in Canada legally.

No other qualifications necessary. Prior office experience will be an asset.

If you are familiar with reading architectural and mechanical construction drawings that would be an asset also.

The job responsibilities include:

– typing emails based on instructions from the Senior Estimator (myself).

– reading mechanical and other construction drawings

– reporting directly to me

– answering phone calls and/or taking messages for me.

– data entry (mainly MS Excel).

– might on occasion need to go to construction site visits on my behalf (typically office renovation projects, very rarely you might be asked to go on to the roof (climbing ladders) or visit mechanical rooms).

– attending daily and weekly estimating meetings and maintaining a record of all project deadlines.

– reminding me of deadlines, creating calendar invites, staying on top of keeping our subtrades and database up to date.

Training will be provided.
