Essential Functions
- Design, develop, and maintain the back end of web applications
- Collaborate with front end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code using best practices
- Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and scalability
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by users or identified during testing
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in back end development
Qualifications & Experience
- In-depth knowledge of PHP (hands-on dealing with rounding, floats, time zones, memory consumption, encoding, escaping etc.).
- 5+ years of practical experience with MySQL – extensive usage of composite indexes, in-depth knowledge of engines, EXPLAIN command, writing efficient queries, concurrent updates, bulk inserts, big data sets etc.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Solid understanding of multithreading concepts
- Familiarity with AJAX for asynchronous web development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency in Linux operating system
Bonus Points:
- AWS, system administration, Go language, plain JS, CSS, HTML, procedural programming experience.
- a degree in finance/banking/accounting. Or lending experience.
- Experience working with Drupal CMS

Salary Range: $95,000-$140,000
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Work Environment: Hybrid-Remote;
40% in Office (Midtown Toronto) 60% Work from Home
