Job Summary:

As a Civil/Structural Engineer at our firm in London, Ontario, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and management of civil and structural engineering projects. Working within a dynamic team, you will contribute to the development and integrity of infrastructure in the London area, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Design and Analysis:
  • Lead the design and analysis of civil and structural components for various projects, including buildings, bridges, roads, and infrastructure facilities.
  • Utilize engineering software and tools to perform structural analysis, including finite element analysis and structural modeling.
  • Development and integrity of infrastructure.
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, including engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of design deliverables.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor construction progress and address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Client Relations:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Identify opportunities for business development and client engagement to expand the firm’s presence in the London area.
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulations, codes, and standards applicable to civil and structural engineering projects in Ontario.
  • Ensure projects comply with all regulatory requirements and obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • For this we provide emergency on site civil engineering services
  • The ability to support from Sarnia is hard on our team due to the emergency nature of the calls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, with a focus on design and project management.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, ETABS, and REVIT.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural analysis, design codes, and construction practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
