The Role – Data Analyst
CanREA collects and analyses technical and market data to keep our members up to date on Canada’s fleet of wind energy, solar energy, and energy storage infrastructure throughout the year. This is to provide data to interested parties, to keep our members up to date on new project developments, existing capacities, and market statistics, and to signal the state of the industry as the definitive voice of the sector – in particular year-over-year growth in pursuit of net-zero goals. CanREA’s data mission is to harness the power of data and information to advance the interests of the wind, solar, and energy storage industries.
To build this capability, CanREA intends to hire a Data Analyst on a 3-year term contract. This role will report to CanREA’s Director – Operations Programs, and will be responsible for crafting data methodology, designing and building the database infrastructure, creating an automated data input process, and providing industry reports and analysis. The Data Analyst will build databases that will collect and analyse renewable energy data and relevant standards and regulations within the Canadian markets.
This role requires a self-motivated, independent worker with strong attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills. They must have the skill to develop and work on databases, and the ability to produce logical data summaries and reports outlining the current state of the industry through key metrics.

The secondary objective is to provide a research function to expand renewable-energy expertise through in-depth knowledge of Canada’s renewable energy and energy storage fleet by keeping the databases up to date and maintaining accurate data to be able to produce various standard and customized reports including but not limited to:
