Summary
The Junior Project Manager supports the Construction Division and is responsible for assisting with requirements throughout the project lifecycle. To achieve smooth and successful project flow, the Junior Project Manager is highly organized and works proactively, preparing for the next steps of the project. The Junior Project Manager assists Project Managers with project management, including startup, obtaining building permits, preparing tenders, budgets, estimates, and construction schedules.

Job Duties
Assist the Project Manager in coordination of project activities
Maintains daily contact with Project Manager and Operations Manager
Develop and monitor purchase orders and quotations
Provide general project information to inquiries received via all incoming channels
Review and approve vendor invoices and development of support documentation
Support the project manager in monitoring contract deliverables
Maintain project records and databases
Develop and maintain project key performance indicators
Manage administrative tasks and organize documentation for project diligence
Assist in defining the project scope and deliverables
Support the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project plans, project tasks and resource requirements
Assist in managing project budget, timelines, and resource allocations
Assist in preparation of project status reports and other project documentation as required
Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
Assist with preparing budgets & creating budgets
Create project schedules
Track contractor invoices
Work closely with Site Superintendents
Acquire costs for change orders for review by Project Manager
Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures
Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team
Review field inspection reports from consultants and action as appropriate
Coordinate procurement methods and maintain records of these processes
Review and track consultant, supplier, and contractor progress billing claims
Provide administrative support to Project Manager as needed including coordination of permits, minor variances, as-builts, and close-out documents for projects
Requirements
Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field preferred
Industry (Landscaping and/or Construction) experience is an asset
Direct work experience in project management is an asset
Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
Familiarity with Microsoft Project
Strengths in Microsoft Excel, MS Office
Strong skills in operating mobile phones and applications
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
Ability to create and edit project documents, materials, and presentations
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders
Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
