About the Role: Diva International Inc. (“DIVA”) is looking for an Accounting Associate – Accounts Payables (Maternity Leave Contract). This role will primarily be responsible to process and enter invoices for payment, match invoices with purchase orders, and check for accuracy. This position will ensure that all assigned month-end financial duties and resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
The opportunity will be a 13-month contract, starting mid-August, with work hours of 40 hours per week as maternity leave coverage for the Accounting Associate – Accounts Payables position. The role allows for remote work in Ontario, Canada and must reside in Ontario, Canada. Candidate must be legally eligible for employment.

Responsibilities:
- Process and enter invoices for payment and check for accuracy
- Send to Approving Manager for proper expense approval through the NetSuite system
- Posting credit card receipts for company credit cards
- Input and reconcile credit card transactions for multiple business cards
- Weekly cheque runs for payments which includes cheques, wires, ACH payments and credit card payments
- Verify account codes for proper assignment of budgetary expenditures
- Matching of PO and Bills before processing payments
- Prepare GST/HST and submit to CRA monthly/quarterly
- Work closely with Accounting Analyst on reconciliation and month end close
- Be a key player in rolling out online banking, OCR or project as directed by Controller
- Posting employee expense forms once they have been approved by the manager
- Back up assistance for Accounts Receivable
- Other administrative and financial duties as required
- Ensure that all month-end financial duties and resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all activities
- Assist in upholding policy and procedures relating to financial and accounting issues
- Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills
- Organize filing of all appropriate documents if necessary
- Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any internal or external audits or independent reviews being conducted
- Collect, interpret, and report on financial data
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times
- Work in accordance with Diva International Inc.’s Quality Policy and B-Corp set of standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 (two) years’ experience in a similar position
- College diploma in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word
- Strong understanding of the workings of an office
- Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Experience in NetSuite strongly preferred
- Experience and/or comfort working in the menstrual hygiene category/CPG environment
- Ability to attend at the Kitchener office when needed
