About the opportunity:

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices in Readsoft, Ebydos and in SAP as part of the supplier payment process. Also responsible for resolving payment issues and general A/P inquiries from internal and external customers on behalf of the department.

The attributes we are looking for:

  • Support the development of local /regional sourcing strategies for the portfolio managed through detailed analysis of historical & current spend data, combined with sourcing and research of new suppliers.
  • Process invoices for payment by verifying scanned invoices, and posting invoices into SAP. Ensure that un-processed invoices are coded and approved by following up with relevant departments.
  • Investigate/resolve invoice discrepancies and SAP Cockpit issues in a timely manner.
  • Respond to general vendor and plant enquiries, including payment status, and resolve issues.
  • Ensure that vendors are paid by due date for assigned accounts by reviewing and monitoring the accounts in the A/P sub-ledger.
  • Reconcile the A/P sub-ledger account balances with vendor records for major accounts.
  • Coordinate vendor set-up change requests with Vendor Master Department.
  • Assist Accounts Payable department by identifying opportunities for improvements to processes and participate in monitoring key performance indicators and logging performance measures.

What you will bring:

  • Post secondary education, minimum of a College diploma, with a concentration in accounting or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in A/P processing
  • Experience with SAP R3 environment an asset
  • Experience with Readsoft and Ebydos applications an asset
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • High accuracy
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Self-starter who is able to work in a team as well as independently
  • Proficient with standard office computer technology including strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word
