Purpose of this Position: This role involves overseeing the daily operations on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining Colony’s high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years as a Site Superintendent on ICI projects, $10-30MM.
  • Strong knowledge of civil, concrete, mechanical, and electrical scope of work.
  • A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of construction techniques, materials, and regulations.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to manage site staff and interact with project managers, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience in industrial steel buildings and concrete tilt-up projects is an asset.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities.
  • Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site staff.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers and clients to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Ensure all site activities comply with Colony’s safety procedures and regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed daily logs and reports of site activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and in a timely manner.
  • Manage site logistics, including the delivery and storage of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct site meetings to discuss project progress and address any issues.
  • Implement and enforce site safety plans and protocols.
  • Ensure all workers go home healthy and safe.
  • Maintain an organized and orderly construction site.
  • Support project managers in the planning and execution of construction schedules.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment on-site.

First Project Details:

Colony is the GC most jobs with scopes ranging from deep underground to Millwork, and everything in between, which will be organized and supervised by our team. The first project involves a 16,400 sq. ft. warehouse-style building with overhead cranes, concrete slab, and a small 2-story office area with washrooms and a mechanical room. The building envelope includes a Pre-Engineered structure with exterior cladding and insulation, as well as overhead doors, man doors, windows, and flashings. Concrete work consists of pad footings, strip footings, perimeter curb/slab on grade, mechanical pads, and exterior aprons. Additional tasks include ESC (Erosion Settlement Control) and site undergrounds including sewer, storm, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as lock block retaining walls, site grading, and paving.

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $90,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience. / Salary would increase if out-of-town work is needed
  • Company truck is provided.
  • RRSP matching and benefits after a 3-month probationary period.
