Job Summary

Office Administrator (LMIA) is responsible for supporting regular office operations as well as organizing the temporary employment of Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) in compliance with federal legislation.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) including all reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with CAN Ministry of Labour rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Secure and regulate migrant accommodations
  • Conduct new hire orientation, process new hire paperwork, Health and Safety training and maintain Health and Safety records for all Temporary Foreign Workers
  • Maintain bunkhouse protocols ensuring compliance to all health and safety regulations
  • Ensure bunkhouse Food, Safety & Cleaning measures are kept to standards
  • Provide on-boarding assistance to Temporary Foreign Workers upon arrival to the farm
  • Schedule all compliance inspections as required
  • Maintain the integrity of the LMIA program and implement the job duties with professionalism
  • General administration duties in support of the General Manager and others as assigned
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company

Requirements And Skills

  • Post Secondary; University degree or College diploma considered an asset
  • Educational focus in Business Administration or Human Resources
  • Bilingual, both verbal and written, in English and Spanish languages
  • One (1) year of LMIA program management experience (preferred)
  • Experience in greenhouse or produce industry (preferred)
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present information and field questions from management, employees, and external contacts
  • Must be able to handle sensitive issues with tact and maintain strict confidentiality of private information
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills

Working Conditions

  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs
  • This job occasionally operates in a hot, high humidity environment where temperature average 90 degrees Fahrenheit, but may increase to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summertime. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation
  • Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time may be required
  • The employee will need to listen and talk to other employees
