IT Minds is looking for an Intermediate Accountant for its client in Etobicoke (Hwy 27 & Albion Rd). The client is a Chartered Professional Accounting firm providing full-service accounting, bookkeeping and tax planning solutions to a diverse client base. The company specializes in owner-managed businesses and have an extensive client base in various industry sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Independently prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
• Strong understanding in Canadian taxation.

Job Description:

• Prepare corporate, personal and trust tax returns along with HST returns.
• Analyze financial information received from clients.
• Prepare financial statements and review working papers.
• Coordinate with clients to gather their information and be available to answer questions.
• Communicate with Canada Revenue Agency to resolve any client issues.
• Draft correspondence related to client engagements.
• Perform all job functions abiding by the office/work standards.
• Assist in other duties, as required

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years’ work experience in public accounting firms
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a college accounting diploma.
• Experience with Profile and QuickBooks
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Able to work overtime during busy tax seasons.

• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Superior customer service, with the ability to understand the clients’ business and needs.
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision and within a team environment.
• Drive to grow skills through ongoing research and professional education.
• Ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships.
• Strong accounting background including knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks and file documentation best practices.
• Strong technical skills in Intuit Profile QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Excel and Word.
