Our client is looking to hire a Senior Bookkeeper to join their finance department and support their continued success.
They are looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to manage their financial transactions and ensure accuracy in their accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a construction industry. This role will involve working closely with their CFO and supervising our junior bookkeeper.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
– Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
– Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
– Manage payroll processes in collaboration with HR.
– Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local accounting regulations.
– Supervise and mentor the junior bookkeeper, providing guidance and training as necessary.
– Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
– Maintain and update the company’s internal electronic filing system
– Handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
– Minimum of ten years of bookkeeping experience, with at least five years in a senior role.
– Proficiency in accounting software such as Jonas, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
– Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
– Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
– Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
