Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Controls System Electrical Designer to join a leading automation company. The candidate will be assisting mechanical designers during mechanical design process to design a control system that will enable the machine to preform its intended duties. This individual will be responsible for formulating and producing a complete electrical design package which will include detailed electrical, pneumatic, cable routing diagrams, and panel layouts. This role will involve verifying that their design package is complete, accurate, and safe based on sound design practices and safety standards. The successful candidate will be required to come into the Cambridge location 5 days per week.

Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical control systems design for automation

  • Working knowledge of ePlan design software

  • Electrical Design standards (NAC, NFPA, CSA)

  • Safety Standards knowledge

  • Post-secondary technology diploma or engineering degree or equivalent specializing in electronics, electrical or controls technology. – Experience with AutoCAD null
