Job Overview

The Manager, Securitization and Funding is a key leader in a dynamic Treasury team. The Manager leads the execution and reporting of the Securitization, Portfolio Insurance, Foreign Exchange, Liquidity Risk Management and other operational functions of FirstOntario Credit Union. The Manager is a natural leader and problem solver, using their skills to guide their team to effectively prepare and execute documents for review by senior management within specific deadlines.

Role

In the role you will…

• Own the Securitization, Portfolio Insurance, Foreign Exchange and Cash Management functions
• Be a point of contact for internal and external counterparties for FirstOntario’s securitization program
• Be a subject matter expert and key stakeholder in FirstOntario’s securitization software
• Support the ongoing back office development of the Securitization function
• Execute FirstOntario’s participation in CMHC MBS and CMB programs via MortgageHub, to optimize asset pooling and perform due process toward the appropriate closing
• Plan and execute ongoing pricing and reporting of existing pools for internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with the credit team and external stakeholders to execute on FirstOntario’s multi-res programs
• Build and regularly review processes including execution and quality controls
• Drive strategy and profitability by supporting the Treasury leadership team in managing third party relationships and developing target volumes, preparation, selection, analysis and execution for the multi-res and IO strip programs
• Oversee the completion of models and reports to monitor and assess the ongoing Liquidity and Foreign Exchange Risk of FirstOntario Credit Union.
• Develop and implement processes to regularly measure and monitor FirstOntario’s Liquidity Risk using FSRA prescribed guidelines and other best practice metrics
• Collaborate with the Treasury leadership team to expand and develop the Foreign Exchange business
• Identify interest rate risk and plan/execute hedging strategies for the securitization program
• Confidently identify and guide management on trends and changes in FirstOntario’s liquidity risk position
• Take detailed records at Product Pricing Committee meetings and implement approved strategies
• Develop processes to guide your team through regular review and analysis of product pricing
• Administer and perform due diligence on FirstOntario’s Term Debt, alternative lending, and revolver programs
• Stay knowledgeable by remaining abreast of impending and developing regulation applicable to the Credit Union and Treasury, including updating policies and procedures
• Regularly coach and provide feedback to your team members to enable them to have confidence in what they do
• Consider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well-being of your team and members
• Perform other duties as required

Required Skills

• Have a university degree in finance, economics, business or related field, an MBA or CFA would be an asset
• Minimum of seven (7+) years working in the Treasury field, preferably with a Treasury background within the financial services industry
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office, data query, analysis tools, and software including MortgageHub
• Have at least three (3) years of proven experience managing a high-performing team, with a focus on people leadership and coaching
