Primary Purpose
This position will report directly to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate for this role will support our day-to-day transactions, including managing incoming bills from vendors and outgoing invoices to customers, expenses, and bank reconciliation. The bookkeeper is responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure designated cash processing, reconciliation and reporting functions are completed in a timely manner while in compliance with policy and regulations.
Specific Responsibilities
Handling accounts payable, processing payments issuing cheques etc.
Conducting daily banking activities
Handling accounts receivable, preparing bank deposits, processing invoices and receipts
Recording transactions such as income and outgoing and posting them in various accounts in QuckBook.
Reconciling bank accounts.
Recording payroll register on spreadsheet and reconciling payroll.
Helping employees to have access to ADP Teampay, produce ROE and reset passwords.
Producing various financial reports.
Updating Daily Cashflow.
Manage mails/emails.
Accepting e-transfers and depositing in the account.
Follow ups with the refunds for the students, such as emailing refund forms, calculating the right amount to refund, processing refunds online banking, sending confirmations to the recruiters.
Recording in QB
Entering all student payments in Coba Collegial and produce T2022 and RL1 for the students and uploading to Federal and Provincial gov’t.
Some other duties may be required to be performed.
Position Requirements Competencies:
Must be an organized multitasker able to handle many diverse projects at once and meet tight deadlines.
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel and cloud accounting applications (ie: QuickBooks, Expensify or other applications).
Comfortable learning about and working with different technology tools.
Excellent organizational skill, focus and exceptional attention to details.
Ability to work successfully to meet specific timelines with limited supervision.
Strong follow up skills and ability to multitask.
Dedication to learning and growing in their craft.
Excellent teamwork skills and collaborative nature.
Education and Experience:
2+ years proven bookkeeping and accounting experience.
Bachelor’s degree, diploma or certificate in Accounting.
