Weighing Associate (contract)-LGC Analytical Standards

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven Full-Time Weighing Associate to join our LGC Analytical Standards team. This position is based out of Toronto, ON and reports into the Supervisor, Finished Goods.

Position Summary
As a Weighing Associate, you will ensure daily weighing of items for sale and for production is conducted and completed in a safe, high quality, and timely manner. The Weighing Associate will foster a working environment that is clean and tidy, fair, positive, and driven to continuously improve.
Key Accountabilities
- Carefully and accurately weigh out chemicals as required and fill vials for customer or internal orders
- Inspect, verify, and confirm order accuracy and correct product labeling
- Use proper dispensing procedures to minimize material loss or cross contamination
- Prioritize chemical products to be weighed according to First in First Out (FIFO)
- Accurately record all weighed chemicals and report any loss to the FG Team Lead
- Maintain proper organization of storage areas and update the inventory database as required
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Well organized, detail and deadline oriented
- Knowledge using a balance and weighing small quantities
- Must be able to stand and sitting for a long period of time
- Must be able to lift up to 25 kg/55 lbs
- Spend varying amounts of time on walk-in freezers, as many chemicals are stored therein
- Working closely with chemical compounds including ones that are potentially toxic or classified as Dangerous Goods and be treated accordingly
- Must be available for:
- A morning shift (6 am to 2:30 pm)
- shift may change to a different shift depending on business needs
- Completed Criminal Background Check
