TEAM & CULTUREOur Survey Team is seeking an individual with a flexible schedule to work with our team on multiple heavy civil construction projects throughout British Columbia.The right candidate will have the training and confidence to support the construction team in earthworks, concrete structures, and pipelines.
A Surveyor’s first responsibility is to perform duties in a safe and effective manner at all times on the job site.You must have neat handwriting for recording field data, be able to interpret construction drawings and perform on the spot field calculations for layout, build complex templates from road alignments, have strong mathematical skills, and attention to detail.
As Surveyor you will perform in field layout and calculations, carry out topographical surveys, work off GPS set ups and third part control networks, work with Total Station and GNSS survey gear, and establish new control in remote locations.A thorough understanding of Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment is mandatory.
EXPECTATIONSThe successful candidate must be able to perform a minimum of the following:
Accurate field layout from planLayout complex structures with accuracyLayout and as build of penstock water conveyance systemTopographical surveyingField calculationsSetting up control in the work areaUnderstanding of site emergency response planUnderstanding of site environmental response plan, including use of spill kit and any other environmental – erosion control products requiredCompliance with site safety regulations applicable to site & assigned workCompliance with PPE and COVID-19 requirements at all times
ALL APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO & FROM SITE OR CREW PICK UP LOCATION.
QUALIFICATIONSMandatory understanding of Trimble GNSS and Robotic equipment is mandatory.Must have a minimum 2-years experience as a construction surveyor.Class 5 driver license.Pass a drug and alcohol pre-screening.Physically fit to perform duties
