What you’ll do
Provide nursing care in accordance with the Nursing Department’s philosophy, conceptual framework, and standards of practice.
Function as a member of the health team by; identifying patient needs and consulting with members of other health care disciplines as necessary, communicating patient-related information to health team members through documentation in the patient’s chart and the provision of written and/or oral reports and participating in interdisciplinary rounds.
Function as scrub nurse/circulator/PAR nurse for operations and special procedures.
Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to Agency policies and Clinic/Nursing Department directives.
Assist the patient in interpretation of the treatment plan and ensure patients and families are aware of services available at the Agency and in the community.
What you bring
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
Graduation from an Operating Room post-diploma program preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
You will also have:
Relevant clinical knowledge in providing intra-operative care.
Ability to apply clinical knowledge in practice.
Communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with patients, the public and all levels of staff both verbally and in writing.
Ability to organize patient care and set priorities.
Skills in CPR techniques.
