Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will help facilitate and lead efficient operations within the organization. They will provide operational leadership and administrative duties to ensure the overall process provides a high level of service to both external and internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate container shipment information/documentation as well as provide a high level of communication to stakeholders within the process
- Accountable for all Inbound and Outbound U.S. based loads, providing leadership, communication and issue resolution as the primary contact for brokerage firms throughout the process
- Maintain dispatch information within software program while communicating and providing updates to various stakeholders
- Lead the vehicle toll mileage program to ensure billing accuracy, maintaining an appropriate level of assets as well as offering potential process improvements
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers with regards to company assets as well as new software implementations
- Enhance customer relationships by building/maintaining both existing and potentially new customer database lists, providing information on an on-going basis as well as creating progress reports for management when required
- Track equipment costs as well as build/maintain database in order to monitor spending and provide cost savings initiatives
- Perform general administrative duties including ordering of supplies, maintaining employee files, employee vacation requests, etc
- Provide various ad-hoc reports to management when required
- Dispatch coverage when required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years of coordination experience in a similar role, preferably within cartage, supply chain and/or logistics
- Post-Secondary Education within Supply Chain preferred
- Strong organizational skills with ability to maintain and communicate accurate information
- Proven ability to build and maintain both internal and external relationships
- Ability to show initiative and provide process improvement suggestions
- Strong MS Office skills with ability to quickly learn new software applications
