We assign our RN’s, LPN’s, and caregivers to different client assignments depending on their specific skill set. Job Duties/Responsibilities

As a caregiver, your primary role is to provide high quality and personalized care to clients. This includes tending to the client’s physical and mental needs, as well as their overall well-being. You will be expected to maintain professionalism while also demonstrating compassion towards clients. The candidate must aid in personal care and companionship, while assisting with general daily activities of the individuals and/or families in the home. Some daily tasks may include:

• Assisting with personal care and hygiene including: bathing and grooming, mouth care, toileting,dressing.
• Basic nutrition and food preparation: preparing light meals, monitoring, feeding when necessary
• General health care: overseeing/reminding of medication and prescriptions usage, appointment reminders
• Cognitive stimulation and socialization (doing a puzzle, or stimulating game)
• Encouraging and aiding in mobilization and exercise, help with getting in and out of a wheelchair, car, shower, and other assistive devices
• Providing constant companionship and general supervision/recognizing and providing emotional and social support to the client.
• Health monitoring: following a predetermined care plan and noticing any changes in the individual’s health, recording and reporting any differences
• Completing regular risk assessments and constantly monitoring of household safety

Hours are flexible and to be discussed

Setting

This assignment is located in Westmount, caring for a male with MS. Cooking and light house work also required at times.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of caregiver, you must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must also demonstrate the ability to solve problems, and work independently. Some other qualifications that maybe required include:

• Certificate/Diploma from a recognized training school an asset.
• CPR/AED certification required
• Must have your own car and willing to drive client on errands, kilometers will be compensated.
• Previous work or volunteer experience with elderly, chronically ill, or palliative patients
• Bilingualism is an asset but not required
• Background check required prior to beginning of employment (this will be paid for by Agence Jacqueline Soins Inc)
