Opportunity
The Faculties of Nursing and Health & Community Studies are seeking an organized, confident, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to support the governance processes of both Faculties. You will work with both Deans’ offices as well as the Offices of the Provost and University Governance to ensure that governance processes operate in accordance with policy and other regulations.
Specifically, you would be responsible for:
Providing governance-related analysis, advice and support to the Deans, Associate Deans and Department Chairs.
Establishing and administering appropriate processes to support the governance functions of both Faculties and ensure alignment with institutional policy, process and practice and with relevant regulatory requirements.
Providing the Secretariat function for the Faculty Councils and their Executive and other governance committees within the Faculties.
Advising Faculty Council and Committee Chairs and members on governance matters and facilitating the operation of committees established to conduct Faculty business.
Supporting aspects of the processes laid out in the MacEwan Faculty Association Collective Agreement with respect to academic appointment, performance evaluation, tenure and promotion.

Specific skills that are required for this position include:
Strong communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills
Sound judgement, diplomacy and the ability to foster and maintain positive collegial relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Ability to exercise initiative, work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to assess situations and problem-solve
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in a Business Administration; Administrative Professional diploma; or diploma in a related field
Three years of senior administrative experience, preferably in a post-secondary or related public sector environment; exposure to academic governance or faculty relations an asset.
Demonstrated technical skills, experience, and efficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
