The Ulnooweg Education Centre’s Science & Innovation team is seeking individuals who are passionate about science and enjoy engaging with youth to join our team as an Educational Facilitator for programs located in the Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island area.
Job Summary
The Educational Facilitator will be based out of the new STEAM PEI | Ulnooweg Education Centre (UEC) Maker Space in downtown Charlottetown, PEI. The Educational Facilitator will work collaboratively with other education team members of both the UEC and STEAM PEI to support the creation and delivery of a series of dynamic programs in the various areas of STEAM to students in grades K – 12. This is a dynamic position that requires continuous learning and enthusiasm to innovate STEAM education program design and delivery. A vested interest in advancing the position and experience of Indigenous youth and community is essential.
Role and Responsibilities
This role works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to prepare and support the delivery of a series of STEAM educational programs to Indigenous communities across Atlantic Canada.
The Educational Facilitator will ensure that their work and conduct support the overall direction of the Ulnooweg Education Centre, and understand how their activities contribute to functional projects, and team goals. The Educational Facilitator will pursue continuous Professional Development and maintain a reasonable degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness of relevant STEAM projects of popular interest. Additionally, they will take ownership of their own development by continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and skill development.

Work will primarily be conducted in the new STEAM PEI | Ulnooweg Education Centre Maker Space in downtown Charlottetown, PEI. Travel is occasionally required for this position as dictated by project needs.
