Responsibilities:
The successful incumbent will transcribe dictated Laboratory reports by computer entry into the Meditech Client Server application. The incumbent will work as part of the team of medical transcriptionists providing vacation relief and workflow assistance during periods of high volumes. The incumbent will also work closely with team of Pathologists and assist in transcription office daily workload.
Qualifications:
Graduate Medical Secretarial Course at a Community College level.
Medical terminology is required.
Laboratory terminology is preferable.
Previous transcription experience in a hospital setting required.
Computer skills are required.
Dicta-typing 70 wpm.
Electronic Computerized Dictation Equipment (Dictaphone voice processor).
Must be able to prioritize workload and function independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
Salary: $23.96 to $29.95 per hour
