Position Functions
- Supervise all workers, sub-contractors, and work activities on the job site.
- Post job logs in scheduling/management program.
- Conduct various work activities to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Ability to supervise multiple projects and sites simultaneously.
- Completing and organizing all required inspections.
- Driving to and from job sites for supervision and/or work activities when needed.
- Schedule sub-contractors based on the written project schedule.
- Health and safety of the site, workers, and subcontractors, based on guidelines and regulations provided by the Ministry of Labor and internal policies and procedures.
- Ensure site workers, subcontractors and visitors comply with internal policies and procedures while on site.
- Conduct and document weekly safety talks.
- Solve problems on site such as but not limited to; problems between workers and subcontractors and on how to fix construction issues to ensure each aspect of the project is ready for the next.
- Proactively communicate between all stakeholders of the project, such as but not limited to owners, clients, workers, vendors, city officials, project managers and subcontractors.
- Ensure each sub contractor’s work is complete on time, up to quality standards, on budget and ready for the next trade to commence their portion.
- Confirm contractor and subcontractors work and clean up was properly conducted prior to leaving site.
- Be responsible and ensure quality control of highest standards.
- Making sure all required material for each portion of the project is ready and on site and if required, place orders and arrange for delivery and/or pickup of the materials.
- Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly milestones of any given project are met.
- Completion of on-site reports and reporting back to the project manager as scheduled.
- Training of workers and laborers in different tasks and safety procedures.
- Ensure job sites are always clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintenance of tools, machinery, and heavy equipment as per manufactures recommendations and or as needed.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a residential construction site supervisor.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field is an asset
- Valid working at heights certificate.
Required Skills:
- Must have Valid Class G driver’s license and clean drivers abstract.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Health & Safety Act and the Ontario Building Code.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings. Including but limited to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and landscape.
- Good understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, quality control, excellent ability to supervise and direct groups of trades and personnel.
- Great communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to implement and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills using email and Microsoft word for reporting and communication.
- Ability to use and or learn Scheduling / Management software.
- Must be polite, courteous, punctual and a team player.
- Ability to bend, crouch and kneel, and operate heavy equipment.
- Strength and stamina and the ability stand for extended periods of time, and to lift over 100lbs is a must.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
