The Shop Helper/ General laborer will have a variety of work locations ranging from Moonstone throughout the Muskoka’s working on various sites.
Watching and making a masterpiece home be created by you and a team of professionals.

This position will be required to assist in the Moonstone Manufacturing facility and on job site.
Job Duties:
- Receiving and organizing shipments and deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness of shop/site, daily cleaning duties, sweeping shop etc.
- Arrive on time and manage time wisely.
- Assist with installations of mill work such as but not limited to: kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, wall units, displays and closets.
- Assist in shop with wood finishing, sanding, staining and applying finishes.
- Assisting with various aspects and tasks related to construction, cabinetry, concrete work, material handling, shipping/receiving, etc.
- Maintain safe work practices, follow company policy and procedures.
- Follow oral and or written instructions with precision to make sure assignments are completed exactly as directed and on time.
- Assist in the assembly of cabinetry.
- Perform general work on a construction site such as: demolition, clean up, material handling, material cutting and general installations.
- Perform work at various heights with the proper use of safety gear, clothing, and restraints.
- Lift, load and transport tools, equipment and materials weighing up to 100 pounds and navigate construction job site terrain.
- Dig pits, trenches as needed on construction site, back-fill trenches, and pits when necessary.
- Operate all hand and power tools safely and accurately on any construction site.
- Perform general maintenance of construction tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Report any safety issues and damaged material to site or shop supervisor.
- Conduct work according company policy and procedures.
- Provide labour support as needed for construction or shop crew.
Work Experience Requirements
- 1 year Residential construction experience.
Education Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED preferred.
- Any construction related college diploma and or certificate is an asset.
- Working from heights and WHIMS certification is an asset.
Required Skills:
- Must have a positive attitude, be able to work with others, as a team and under pressure.
- High attention to detail and extremely meticulous.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
- Knowledge of material and construction processes.
- Clean drivers abstract, Class G driver’s license with a reliable means of transportation.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be polite, courteous, and punctual and a team player.
- Willingness to stand and work in all types of weather for eight hours per day with minimal supervision.
- Hand-eye coordination and physical strength with the ability to lift heavy material.
22-26/hr
Occasional overtime, and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
