Expectations
Assist in full-cycle recruitment (on-boarding and off-boarding), including creating, posting, and managing job advertisements, screening and arranging interviews with candidates, and conducting reference checks.
Update employee files in HRIS system for new hires, changes, transfers, wage changes, and terminations.
Conduct training including (WHMIS, Worker Health & Safety Awareness etc.)
Tracks and files all employee-related documents i.e. Performance Warnings, Reviews, Policy Sign-offs, etc.
Provides general Administrative Support such as preparation of general letters i.e. employment verification, employment offers and transfer/promotion
Participate in the execution of Employee Surveys
Responsible for the administration of the employee benefit plan, including fielding employee questions and annual re-enrolment
Ensure timely completion of accident and incident reports, keep records of the same and submit reports to WSIB.
Other responsibilities as required.
Experience
1 to 2 years of experience as a Human Resources Coordinator/Administrator- Automotive experience is considered an asset
Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
CHRP Designation or working towards one is an asset
Good working knowledge and understanding of employment and labor laws, HR procedures and practices, legislative provisions regarding recruitment, employment equity, compensation, and health and safety required
Ability to handle multiple tasks, self-manage projects, prioritize workload, and maintain concentration and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions
Positive, solution driven “can do” attitude.
Ability to coach employees at all levels through difficult situations, ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues using judgment consistent with the organization’s preferences and priorities
Computer skills in the area of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
