IPG Photonics (Canada) Inc. designs, develops and manufactures a unique and rapidly growing laser welding process monitoring technology with significant importance to the electric vehicle revolution. We are the national subsidiary of IPG Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ:IPGP).
IPG Photonics Canada Inc. is growing rapidly and is seeking to hire a new Controller/Financial Manager. This hands-on position is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the subsidiary (~30-50 employees), preparing intra-company reports and basic payroll/benefits administration through existing commercial software platforms.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of accounting and financial management experience; a CPA designation is preferred, however, candidates with a solid track record of bookkeeping and payroll/benefits administration will be considered as well.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, sub ledgers and prepare reconciliation entries.
Administer payroll and benefits specific to the Canadian subsidiary
Manage day-to-day banking operations, reconcile monthly bank statements.
Applying corporate finance policies.
Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Human Resource operations with assistance from corporate headquarters.
Fulfill month-end closing requirements.
Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with GAAP/ASPE standards.
Prepare documents and forms related to regulatory requirements (GST/HST, CRA, Ministry of Finance, WSIB, StatsCan etc.) and ensure accuracy and timely submission.
Work with corporate staff and local accounting firms to prepare tax submissions.
Analyze subsidiary and product line profitability and suggest improvements to transfer pricing and related policies.
Customized financial reporting as required by management.
Administer all payroll activities and benefits administration.
Managing all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, provincial, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes.
Calculate royalty payments from sales documentation.
Qualifications:
A CPA designation with 5 years of Financial management experience or 10+ years of bookkeeping and payroll administration experience
Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with reporting requirements of a publicly traded company with global subsidiaries, and experience with enterprise ERP software.
Meticulous level of detail, highly organized, business oriented, dependable and capable of supporting the rest of the team.
Experience working with a rapid growth company is preferred.
Self-motivated and interested in streamlining processes.
Demonstrated ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Able to work with tight deadlines.
Strong computer skills. Ability to design/prepare reports and other appropriate documentation.
